I enjoy coaching sport, especially cricket.
As an individual my main competitive sports were practical pistol shooting (where I represented the UK and Scotland) and squash.
Recreationally I played golf and, after a relatively late start, cricket. I realized I was not going to be a ‘star’ performer at cricket but found that I was quite good at coaching others. I developed this further, working at the Essex Indoor Cricket Centre and volunteering with local cricket clubs.
I am a level 3 cricket coach (ECB Performance Coach) with experience delivering coaching in numerous and varying environments and standards: both group and individual lessons.
I have worked with age group teams at Club and District level.
As a coach I have gone through the enhanced DBS check via the ECB.
I am first aid trained, take a safeguarding children course every 3 years and I am a member of the ECB Coaching Association (giving me the appropriate professional insurance).
I am also a qualified cricket umpire and football coach.
